Given in Exchange by Grace Pettman, 1932.

A 1930s children's novel.

Born in Ramsgate, where she lived for most of her life, Grace Pettman was educated at Westwood College, married a Mr. Pout, and had one daughter. Active in missionary work, many of her novels for young readers have a strongly evangelistic theme. In addition to her books for girls, Pettman wrote a history of Cavendish Baptist Church, Ramsgate, as well as boys' stories, under the pseudonym Spencer Deane.
